PrEP

Pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) is an easy and effective way to prevent HIV infection. It comes as one pill that contains two drugs.

You can take PrEP in two ways :

1. Daily PrEP: one pill every day.

2. On‑demand PrEP: for sex that isn’t planned regularly.
   This means taking

• 2 pills between 2 and 24 hours before sex,

• 1 pill 24 hours after the first dose,

• ⁠1 more pill 24 hours later.

Long active injectable PrEP is available in Thailand but at a very high cost.

PrEP must be prescribed by a doctor who will check if it is safe for you.

Taken as prescribed, it is safe and very effective to prevent HIV.
